表示乘火车去某地用什么介词？是用介词to还是for？比如“我决定乘火车去伦敦”，英语是说I decided to take a train to London.还是I decided to take a train for London.请各位老师指点，谢谢！

我的感觉是：表示乘火车去某地，英语是用介词to，很少用for。如：

we took the night train to Scotland. 我们搭乘晚上的火车到苏格兰。

He took an overnight train to Canada. 他乘坐夜班列车去了加拿大。

I took a Circle Line train to St Paul’s. 我乘地铁环线去了圣保罗大教堂。

Bill and I took the morning train to Paris. 比尔和我搭早上的火车去了巴黎。

She took the train to New York every weekend. 她每个周末乘火车去纽约。

We took a bus to the northern tip of the island. 我们乘公共汽车到了岛的北端。

表示乘坐火车去某地，除用动词 take 外，还可用动词 catch, get 等。如：

to catch / take / get the next train to London （《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》第六版train词条）

I normally catch / take / get the 7.15train to London. 我一般乘7点15分的火车去伦敦。（《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》第四版train词条）

以下两种表达都是正确的：

1. I decided to take a train to London.

2. I decided to take a train for London.

但是，这两个句子是有些差别的。

▲句子结构不同：句1中，to London是介词短语做地点状语，修饰take；句2中，for London是介词短语做定语，修饰a train。

▲句子意思或着重点不同：句1表示“乘坐火车去某地”，说明乘火车的目的；句2表示“乘坐去某地的火车”。

我认为，如果强调“（去某地的）交通工具”时，用a train, bus, plane, boat for......；如果强调谓语动词去的方向或前往的目的地，则用to，take a train, bus, plane, boat to......。

实际上，在交通工具后用for作定语的情况，十分常见：

介词for表示“去；前往”： If you leave for a particular place or if you take a bus, train, plane, or boat for a place, you are going there.
