▲so much 是 much 的强调说法，由于 much 通常不用于修饰形容词和副词的原级，故so much 原则上也不能这样用。即：

误：It’s so much expensive.

误：The idea sounds so much interesting.

▲但也不是说 so much 就一定不能用so much 修饰，有少数形容词其实也可以受 so much 的修饰（如alike就是其中之一）。如：

They were so much alike in physique. 他们在体形上非常相似。

The twins are so much alike that I can’t tell which is which. 这对双胞胎长得可真像，我都分不出谁是谁了。

▲so much 修饰形容词或副词比较级属正常用法。如：

She’s looking so much older. 她看上去老多了。

She’s so much more beautiful now. 她现在可漂亮多了。

If he will help us, so much the better. 如果他能帮助我们，那就更好了。

▲另外，so much 还可用于修饰不可数名词。如：

I regret spending so much money. 我很后悔花了这么多钱。
