1. 此句中的 like 是连词，意思与 as 或 as if 相同。例如：

  Like (=As) I said , you’re always welcome to stay.(OALD)

  She looked like (as if) she was enjoying the party.(MWALD)

  一般认为，like作连词是非正式的（informal）用法,但却很常见，尤其在美语中。

2. pretend 既是及物动词也是不及物动词。你引用的句子中的pretend是不及物动词用法，就像I’m tired of having to pretend all the time（OALD）中的pretend一样。至于不及物动词pretend后面所接的like从句，应该称为（方式）状语从句。所以，从语言结构上讲，pretend后的that从句和like从句是有区别的。

3. 事实上，非正式语体的 pretend like 从句的使用频率很低，主要用于美语。但就表达的意思来讲，pretend like 和 pretend (that) 从句基本没有区别。下面两例均摘录于近年美国报刊：
