morning前面可以不用任何冠词或修饰语吗
Oh, yes. Well, towards nightfall I found myself carried out to sea by a strong wind. It was all my fault. I didn’t know whether I could survive until morning. The next morning I’d just about given myself up for lost when I was spotted by a ship.
请问：句的 morning 前面为什么没有用冠词呢？可以加上定冠词 the 吗？

若不强调时间的期间，而强调时间的起点，则习惯上不用冠词。如：
Afternoon came, and it was time for them to leave. 下午到了，是他们起程的时候了。
It happened towards evening the next day. 这事发生在次日傍晚。
When morning came, I found that she had left. 天亮了，我发现她已走了。
Night began to fall. 夜幕开始降临。
