relation, relations, relationship 这三个词都表示“关系”，区别如下：

(1) 客观地描述事物之间的关系时，通常用 relation 或 relationship。如：

the relation [relationship] between cause and effect 因果关系

the relation [relationship] between wages and prices 工资与价格的关系

(2) 若所表示的关系暗示一种往来关系、人际关系、利害关系、外交关系等，通常用 relations 或 relationship。如：

Relations between our two countries have normalized. 我们两国的关系已恢复正常。

Our relationship has been normalized. 我们的关系正常了。

(3) 若指具有强烈感情上的亲密关系(如恋爱关系或暧昧关系等)，通常用 relations或 relationship。

(4) 表示“亲属关系”，可用 relation 或 relationship。
