If I ask them some questions regarding the book. I find that they will only repeat something that somebody else has said about what they think that they have been reading. 我若就此书向他们提一些问题的话，我发觉他们仅会重复一些他人阅读后的感受。（第二个定语从句that they have been reading 所修饰的是 something that somebody else has said about what they think，不单单是something)

这段话来自《薄冰高级英语语法》590页，不是特别懂，能不能说下语法关系。句子最后面的两个“they”指的是“ask them”中的“them”，还是“somebody else”。“that they have been reading”是修饰“something”吗？“about what they think" 啥作用？还请专家老师帮忙解答下！

这个句子存在多处歧义，譬如they的所指和语法结构，导致语义不甚明了。

没办法，找原文，试图通过语篇来确定语义，确定语义后，语法的问题有望迎刃而解，即遇到疑难问题时，先语篇，再语义，后语法。

I find 是主句，其后的that 引导宾语从句。宾语从句的主语为they， something....到句尾是repeat 的宾语。这个宾语中又包含了定语从句。

Something that 后面是定语从句，关系代词that 是said 的宾语，somebody else 是定语从句的主语。About 引导的介词短语可以看作something 的定语。介词about 的宾语为名词性从句。What they think that they have been reading 的what =the thing that，做reading 的宾语。They think 为嵌入分句，夹在其宾语从句和被前置的宾语之间。
