for sb to do sth可以放在句首作主语，但不算普通，改成 it is...for sb to do sth更常见。下面的截图摘自薄冰老师的《高级英语语法》：

备注:非正式语体，把真正主语不定式to do放在句首作主语。

【2】It is customary for the bride to wear white 。【正式语体用法】

备注:正式语体，用it作形式主语，真正主语不定式to do作外置主语。
