a queue of…作主语时谓语动词用单数还是复数

a queue of…的意思是“一长列…”“排着队的一列…”，其后接复数名词。

当 a queue of…用作主语时，谓语动词通常用单数（即视为整体）。如：

A queue of cars was held up by the traffic lights. 一长列汽车被红绿灯截住了。

There is a queue of people for new houses. 有一长队的人等着要新房。

There was a queue of people waiting patiently for the bus to arrive.人们排着队耐心等待公共汽车来。

但有时谓语动词也用复数（即将其视为整体），不如用单数普通。如：

A queue of people were waiting for the last bus. 一群人在排队等末班车。

A queue of passengers were waiting to board the boat. 一排旅客正等着上船。
