I would receive an extra thousand pounds a year.
如果用more来替换extra的话,书中课后习题12题提供的方式是£1,000 a year more,即one thousand pounds a year more
但这样读起来似乎不是很顺畅,可否按照我们常说的"数字+more+名词" 的表达方式写成 one thousand more pounds a year?
1. I would receive £1,000 a year more是正常的表述,没有问题。
We would provide $600 million a year more for schools.
As a result, the importing world will lave to spend about $35 billion a year more for the same quantity of oil.
These cost billions of dollars to build and tens of millions a year more to run.
If Kerry's tax increase were law, the average family would pay $657 more a year.
This country could probably be making several billion dollars a year more if it were willing to sell to just anybody.
A successful term in the West Wing can mean a couple of million dollars a year more in salary and consulting fees, an insider estimates.

倾向于把答案one thousand pounds a year more中的more解释为副词,释义为 additionally; in addition (此释义可参考网站主页The Free Dictionary),而非形容词 additional; extra 之义。
1) I would receive an extra (adj.) thousand pounds a year.
2) I would receive a thousand more (adj.) pounds a year.
3) I would receive a thousand pounds a year extra (adv.) /additionally.
4) I would receive a thousand pounds a year more (adv.).
