1）这里既有this，又有that从句，容易理解为是it形式主语+主语从句的变体。只是一方面this做形式主语似乎不太规范，二是语义也不合适。

2）that从句说明了rebound的内容，again与rebound有种对应关系，有些像同位语从句。但rebound又不接同位语从句。

3）最终倾向于将that从句理解为定语从句，that可以用关系副词where替换，表示一种抽象的地点（场景）。而this与本段开头的this所指相同，具体内容为taking ... and put ...（原文中put应该改为putting）这种措施。在阅读中this就是take ... and put ...这种措施。

句子大意：突然之间，这有望成为一次基因健康和某种程度的反弹的超级混合，这些动物可以重新野生并再次做回它们自己。

另外需要注意的是：改编为阅读后多了些明显的错误，比如sort of a rebound中漏掉了a， the genes red wolves hiding in coyote populations中red wolves前应该加上of。
