admire 表示“敬佩;钦佩;羡慕”等义时,其后是不能接不定式的。但在美国方言中(注意是“方言”)可表示 like, wish 之类的意思,此时可以后接不定式,且此时的 admire 通常(不是“必须”)要连用would, should,即这样用的 would / should admire 相当于 would / should like。
