the whole community 和the whole of the community 意思相同。前者的whole 是形容词，后者的whole 是名词，只是用法不同。

【注意】可数名词在单数状态下，如果能说“the whole + n”的话，都可以这样转换使用。

I've read the whole book. = I've read the whole of the book.

The news spread in the whole town. = The news spread in the whole of the town.
