简单说：

1）如果是三选一的话，这道题没改编好，因为标准化考试讲究答案的唯一性：

"介词+which" = where（先行词为地点） ----> 选from which可以的话，选where也就可行，那么从考试的角度分析，就只能选具有唯一性的from where。那为什么给出的答案是非唯一的from which呢？

2）因为原例句 We depend on the land where we get our food 是用来讲解定从中，何时用that，何时用which的。所以出题的话，应该是

We depend on the land from (that/which/where) we get out food.

这样考试中就没有歧义了：排除that（介词后不用that），排除where（=介词+which），就只剩下from

只是习题改编者或疏忽或水平有限或其它原因，忘记排除介词from了，导致了自相矛盾现象的出现。

实际上这句话下几种形式都算“正确”的说法：

We depend on the land from which we get our food.

We depend on the land which we get our food from.

We depend on the land that we get our food from.

We depend on the land where we get our food.

那么用 from where 可不可以（比如网友的这道题）？那就要脱离考试，稍微

答案当然是可以的。关于 "from which vs from where"，母语者也经常撕逼，很多人仅仅是因为from where听起来了有点jarring而避免使用它。类似中文的“屌丝”，虽然已经非常普及，报刊电台等等都有见到/听到，但仍然有很多人觉得“屌”字太不雅，而羞于启齿，道理一样。
