这个比较分句是名词life的修饰语，as分句中的方式状语是缺失的，这个分句中缺失的方式状语就是分句中的gap.

2、I have bought a new apartment , and now I can finally say goodbye to such a bad roof as doesn’t even serve to keep the rain out.

这句话中，主句比较项为such a bad roof,比较对应项在比较分句中作主语，必须省略、

3、This is the history as it was lived by the men of the 505th regiment.

问题1：曹老师，这个as比较分句作名词history的修饰语，分句中的gap也是方式状语嘛？

问题2：请教老师，这个it 是指前面的document吗？另外这个分句中的gap也是方式状语吗？

问题3：通过对比例句1、2、3、4我发现as 分句修饰名词分为两种情况，一种是主句中有比较项（例句2），as 分句中的gap为比较对应项，比较对应项一般作主语、宾语、表语；另一种是主句没有比较项（例句1、3、4），as 比较分句的gap为方式状语。请教老师，那么可否把例4改成：Please find such the document as attached.即：主句中有了比较项such the document , 那么比较分句可否就能理解成：as 分句的主语为比较对应项，必须省略，然后又省略了is呢？

1 是的。2 省略的只是is，没有it。主语位置为gap。3 这个句式是写信时常用的句式，不可以加such。
