rather than“而不是……”，接不定式时，可以带to或不带to。但rather than位于句首时，不定式通常不带 to（也可用动名词）。例如：

I decided to write rather than (to) telephone. 我决定写信，而不是打电话。

Rather than waste [wasting] your time doing it yourself, why don’t you call in a builder? 你为什么宁愿浪费时间自己去干而不去请一个包工的呢？

▲ rather than连接的并列成分除不定式外还可以是名词、代词、形容词、副词、介词短语、谓语、分句……等等。例如：
