2 make up与make up for表示“弥补”的区别

Fat and salt are very important parts of a diet. They are required to process the food that we eat, to recover from injury and for several other bodily functions. When fat and salt are removed (remove) from food, the food tastes as if it is missing something. As a result, people will eat more food to try to make up for that something missing. Even worse, the amount of fast food that people eat goes up. Fast food is full of fat and saltby eating more fast food people will get more salt and fat than they need in their diet.

请问句中的make up for可去掉for换成make up吗?

先看make up sth:

再看make up for sth

1)你补给我100元,这是补足——金额不足,差多少,补多少----> make up sth;

现在你回过头再看你的文章,eat more food的原因,是因为fat and salt的份量/摄入量不足(make up sth),还是因为something has been lostmake up for)?

一家之言,仅供参考;

我的理解是:表示补足数量,通常用make up,但表示弥补缺失或损失make upmake up for都可以。

Statistics show that the average number of births per woman has fallen from 4.9 in the early 1960s to 2.5 nowadays. Furthermore, around 50% of the world’s population live in regions where the figure is now below the replacement level (i.e. 2.1 births per woman) and almost all developed nations are experiencing sub-replacement birth rate. You might think that developing nations would make up the loss (especially since 80% of the world’s people now live in such nations), but you’d be wrong. Declining birth rate is a major problem in many developing regions too, which might cause catastrophic global shortages of work force within a few decades.——2017江苏卷

Simple improvements to infrastructure can reduce the spread of disease. Better sewers  make it less likely that heavy rain is followed by an outbreak of the disease of bad stomach. Stronger bridges mean villages are less likely to be left without food and medicine after floods. According to a paper in 2011 by Mr Hsiang and co-authors, civil conflict is related to El Ninos harmful effects—and the poorer the country, the stronger the link. Though the relationship may not be causal, helping divided communities to prepare for disasters would at least reduce the risk that those disasters are followed by killing and wounding people. Since the poorest are least likely to make up for their losses from disasters linked to El Nino, reducing their losses needs to be the priority.——2016江苏卷
