已知：it 用作形式主语时可代替不定式（短语）、动名词（短语）、名词性从句。如果代替的对象不是不定式（短语）、动名词（短语）或名词性从句，则不可以代替。

如：Your purpose is to bring to the notice of the employer any good reason why you rather than any of the other applicants should be chosen for the job.

这句话中bring的宾语“any good reason...”被转移到了句尾，并没有在bring后添加一个 it 占位，因为“any good reason...”不属于不定式（短语）、动名词（短语）、名词性从句，只是一个带有定语从句的名词短语。

但为什么下面这道题中却使用了 it 去替代一个名词短语“the way +定从”？

在非正式文体里，it 可以充当名词+关系从句的先行主语。

It’s wonderful the enthusiasm that the children show. 孩子们表现出的热情高涨极了。

the way ... 也常用于这种结构中。

It’s amazing the way (that) they work together . 他们这样合作，真令人惊讶。

It’s strange the way you know what I’m thinking. 真奇怪，你知道我在想什么。

备注：如果改为what必须使用以下两种句子结构。
