connect与attach的区别

1.I realized that my discomfort was (connected) to my inadequate professional training.

2.The importance our society (attaches) to the development of the internet largely owes to the convenience it has brought to our life.

这这里为什么分别用connect，attach?这两个词怎么区分？

1.【答】参考译文：我意识到我的不适应与专业训练不足有关。Be connected to ... 与 ...... 有关（可以把connected看作过去分词或者形容词）

(attach importance to sth. 的意思是“认为某事物重要”）
