To begin with, the quality of education offered within households is not as good as that in schools. This is because experienced teachers and educational resources are designed to guide students in a more efficient manner. For example, when students have questions regarding their studies, they can receive immediate and useful suggestions from a teacher. Furthermore, school settings provide students with access to material resources, such as advanced scientific experiments and various cultural activities, which can motivate and develop their enthusiasm and creativity. All in all, the substandard quality of education in households may adversely affect children’s academic performance.
Moreover, self-educating deprives children of the vital experiences that come from socializing with their peers. School environments provide students with a platform to collaborate with each other and develop communication skills and hone their social abilities. In addition, children within school settings have the opportunity to share their thoughts and views with students from different backgrounds, and this kind of beneficial social interaction is not available to those who are homeschooled. Thus, this lack of school experience can have long-term adverse effects on children’s development.
In conclusion, it is suggested that parents educating children at home should not be the optimal choice for them. Although this form of education brings peace of mind to parents, the benefits are overshadowed by the cons. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that school offers more reliable educational resources and a variety of experiences for children, so parents should consider sending their young to school.
