怎么分析短语 hold ture 的词性(hold是系动词吗)

之所以怀疑hold是系动词，是因为牛津词典把 hold ture 的例句放在了 ture 作为形容词的分栏里：

ture adj.

【不规则形式】 truer, truest

Unfortunately, these findings do not hold true (= are not valid) for women and children.

遗憾的是，这些调查结果不适用于妇女和儿童。

即：hold ture 中 ture 是形容词。但是查阅了各大词典，没发现 hold 有系动词的用法呢？
