请教:a surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another

a surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another; a rising or falling surface

我看不懂的地方在of which 这里,以我浅显的语法能力判断 of which应该相当于 whose做连接词引导定语从句,可是语法书上现实的规则是可以被the+n.+of which or of which +the+n.”取代,即:whose+n. 。 类似的案例还有关于 era 定义来自剑桥高阶词典:a period of time of which particular events or stages of development are typical同样姑且认为是particular之前应加the的结构,虚心向老师请教。

a surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another; a rising or falling surface

a surface of which one end or side is = a surface one end or side of which is(不是说非得用the

a period of time of which particular events or stages of development are typicalparticular events ... are typical of which
