从句中过去时和过完时选择

The hole in the stratospheric ozone layer over Antarctica did not grow as fast this year as it did on average between 1991 and 2006.

为什么从句不用过去完成式had done呢，表示过去的过去啊

this year 和 between1991 and 2006 已经清楚地表明了时间的先后，因此比较分句的过去完成时就被一般过去时代替了。这类似于before或after引导时间状语从句时，过去完成时也常被一般过去时所代替一样。此时用过去完成时也是可以的，但一般过去时更为简洁。

因为句中的时间状语是 between 1991 and 2006（表示具体的过去时间），所以从句不用过去完成式had done。
