原句upon后的逗号有误，应该在it后，with后的这部分相当于：with the continents, together with the islands and other features of the oceans, superimposed on it. 这里的superimposed 应该是过去分词。我理解with 前有逗号是因为句子较长需要停顿，这样句子成分也清晰，with 后的逗号是因为superimposed on it 前置所致。
