请问老师：It was…that…是强调句型，强调there地点状语，那么后面的at the Battle of the Somme in 1916是做插入语吗，还是什么成分呢？介词短语是不能作同位语，那这里不能看作同位语。求指教！谢谢

介词短语可以作同位语。这里的 at the Battle of the Somme in 1916是there的同位语。
