这里less为什么词性呢？even为形容词，less为代词吗？还是even为副词less为形容词？

词典指出在这里less为代词，在这里less如果为副词是否说的通呢？

这里主从句主语一致省略了he

这里did是代替helped her吧？但是这里he为什么不省略呢？

1 has为及物动词，必须后接宾语，所以less无疑是代词。

2 spend为及物动词，less为spend的宾语，所以less在此也是代词。

3 你对这个比较分局的省略理解错误。than后省略的是形式主语it和外置的that从句，然后进一步省略了助动词was。补全的比较分句为 than it was expected that he would last night.

4 这个比较分句是不能省略he。did替代谓语部分。比较分句省略主语而保留谓部分只有二种可能：1）主语为比较对应项；2 主语为嵌入分句，即形式主语it和外置的主语从句同时省略。
