if not better than 是什么意思

Do you enjoy listening to records? I find records are often as good as, if not better than, an actual performance.

这里as good as后面的一个as是引导状语从句吗？

所以实际的顺序应当是：as good as an actual performance吗，那as引导的状语从句中的谓语是什么啊，省略了is吗？

答案上将“if not better than”译为“甚至更胜一筹”，可以请教一下为什么这么译吗？

if not better than 的意思是：即使不是更好。

体会：

A即使不比B更好，至少也是一样好。

= A与B一样好，甚至更好。

if not better than实际上是If (A is省略) not better than( B 省略) 条件状语从句省略形式作主句的条件状语，而且形容词/副词比较级可以更换其它形容词/副词比较级，形容词/副词原级可以更换其它形容词/副词原级主要用于以下句型

句子整体结构：A +谓语动词+形容词/副词（原级），if not +形容词/副词比较级+than, B,

以上整体结构中文意思：“如果A不比B更...A至少和B一样...”

【1】A is as good as, if not better than, B

Mary’s English is as good as, if not better than, Alice’s.

=Mary’s English is as good as Alice’s if her English is not better than Alice’s

【2】A is as tall as, if not taller than, B

Jack is as tall as, if not taller than, Mike

Jack is as tall as Mike if Jack(he) is not taller than Mike.

【3】A is as strong as , if not stronger than , B

Jack is as strong as, if not stronger than, Mike

Jack is as strong as Mike if Jack(he) is not stronger than Mike.

【4】A sings as well as, if not better than, B

Mary sings as well as, if not better than, Alice.

Mary sings as well as Alice if Mary(she) doesn’t sing better than Alice.
