the crew作主语时谓语动词用单数还是复数

All of my acting in the new season is unpaid, but the crew is paid.

上面一句来自2022年高考英语新全国卷Ⅱ听力的录音原文。

请问 the crew is paid 一句中为什么用 is 而没有用 are 啊？

crew 作为集合名词，用作主语时其谓语动词可用单数(看作整体)也可用复数(考虑其个体)：

The crew is large. 工作人员众多。

The crew of the plane are ten in all. 这架飞机的机组人员一共10人。
