感觉 its 后面总是要接名词。如：

Everybody is aware of its importance. 每个人都意识到了它的重要性。

At last the country went to war with its neighbour. 这个国家终于与其邻国开战了。

The verb agrees with its subject in number and person. 动词在数和人称上与主语一致。

The company has come under fierce attack for its decision to close the factory. 因为决定要关闭工厂，公司受到猛烈攻击。

If a room is 3 metres wide by 3 metres long its area is 9 square metres. 如果一个房间是3米宽3米长，它的面积就是9平方米。

我的问题是：its 可以单独使用吗？也就是后面不接被修饰的名词，也可以吗？好像这样用的用法没见到。但从语法上看，its 后面接名词就是书上说的形容词性物主代词，后面不接名词就是书上说的名词性物主代词。对不对？
