英语中部分否定的几种表示方法

【一】all的否定式：not all…（或：all…not）表示"并非都……"、"不是所有的都……"。

【1】All is not gold that glitters. 发光的并非都是金子。

【2】Not all is gold that glitters. 发光的并非都是金子。

【二】both的否定式：not…both(或：both…not)"并非两个……都……".

【1】Both of them are not my brothers. 它们两个不全是我的兄弟。

【2】Not both of them are  my brothers. 它们两个不全是我的兄弟。

备注：全部否定必须使用“neither”

Neitherof them is my brothers. 他们两个都不是我的兄弟。

【三】every…的否定式："不是/并非每……都……".

【1】Every man can not do it. 不是每个人都能做这件事。

【2】Not every man can do it. 不是每个人都能做这件事。

【四】always的否定式："并非总是（并非一直）……".

He is not always so sad. 他并不是一直都这样悲伤。

【五】entirely, altogether, completely和quite的否定式："不完全……"，"并非完全……"。

I don't agree completely. 我并不完全同意。

【六】all the time的否定式："并非一直……"、"未必老是……".

A foolish man doesn't make a mistake all the time. 笨人未必老是犯错误。

【七】not…and…的否定式，被否定的往往是and后面的那一部分。如果将and换成or，not对其后面的两部分就全盘否定了。

【1】not …and…的否定式，被否定的往往是and 后面的那一部分。

He did not speak clearly and correctly. 他讲得清楚但不正确。

This film is not interesting and instructive. 这部电影有趣但无教育意义。

She can not sing and dance. 她会唱歌但不会跳舞。

【2】如果将and 换成or，not 对其后面的两部分就全盘否定了。

He did not speak clearly or correctly. 他讲的既不清楚也不正确。

She can not sing or dance. 她既不会唱歌也不会跳舞。

完全否定对应词结构如下

【1】All of them can do it.他们都会做【完全肯定】

【2】None of them can do it.他们都不会做。【完全否定】

 【1】Both are good. 两个都好。【完全肯定】

【2】Neither is good.两个都不好。【完全否定】

 【1】Everybody likes it. 每个人都喜欢它。【完全肯定】

【2】Nobody likes it.没有人喜欢它。【完全否定】

 【1】He is always late. 他总是迟到【完全肯定】

【2】He is never late.他从来不迟到。【完全否定】

 【1】We trust them entirely. 我们完全相信他们。【完全肯定】

【2】We never trust them .我们从来不相信他们。【完全否定】

 【1】He was here all the time. 他一直在这儿。【完全肯定】

【2】He was never here.他从没在这儿。【完全否定】

在not always中我们先看always英语词典的解释：all the time,at all times,or every time,注意这个解释里面的every time，它告诉我们always蕴含着一种“every”的含义。请看词典的例句：

He hadn’t always been a butler.(他并不总是当管家。)

这句话含义是：他有时候是管家，有时候不是管家。因此，在部分否定句中，“always”可以理解为否定的“some”或“sometimes”。例如：

If you park your car in the wrong place， a traffic policeman will soon find it. You will be very lucky if he lets you go without a ticket. However， this does not always happen.（一旦你把汽车停错了地方，交通警很快就会发现。如果他没给你罚单就放你走了，算你走运。然而，情况并不都是这样。）this does not always happen.告诉我们，情况有时候是这样的，情况有时候不是这样的。

又如：

Most of the time not always, but most of the time I've succeeded.（大多数的时候——有时候可以这样说，但是大多数的时候——我获得了成功。）（自考综合英语第二册上第14课）注意在Most of the time后作者用not always对Most of the time加以评论，称Most of the time是有时候可以这样说。
