我认为这个that从句是sighs的宾语从句。词典告诉我们，sigh除了可以表示叹气，还可以表示叹一口气说话。此时sigh为及物动词，其宾语可以是直接引语，也可以是that引导的宾语从句作间接引语。
例如《韦氏高阶》：“I may never see my old home again,” she sighed. 她叹了一口气说：“我可能再也见不到我的老房子了。”
