content为什么有时用单数有时用复数

各位老师，同样都是content，为什么第二句用复数形式。这里有什么不同的表达的意思吗？

对于所写的东西, 如a letter，content 一般来说，用单复数都可以，基本没有什么区别。但用单数是选择了它的不可数的抽象含义，用复数是可数的具体含义,常指信中提到的各种事。

请看曼德拉的一封信中同时出现了content 单复数的用法，应该有不同的语义的考虑。

content 用于表示：（1）含量（2）相对于形式的“内容”、旨趣、要旨； contents 用于表示：（1）容器的“内容物”（2）书籍等的“内容”、“目录”。
