a bit paunchy but still the champ 这显然是but连接的并列结构。（who was） a bit paunchy but still the champ. 这其实是省略了who was的非限制性定语，but并列的是二个表语。并列结构并列的是相同的句子成分，不一定非得是相同的词类。
