请教曹老师，这里的be it是省略了连词whether的倒装句吗？

2. Tell him the truth if you want to, but on your own head be it

Far be it from me to interfere in your affairs but I would like to give you just one piece of advice.

请教曹老师，这里的两个句子是因为开头是介词短语和副词，而把be提前的完全倒装句吗？这里为什么要用be而不用is？

1 是的，be是虚拟语气形式，早期英语让步从句是需要用动词原形式虚拟语气的。当whether省略后，则be倒装于主语前。现代英语让步从句已经用陈述语气代替虚拟语气，be用is，此时就不能省略连词whether了。

2 这二个句子中的be也是虚拟语气，这是古体，作为固定句型使用。

Tell him the truth if you want to, but on your own head be it.

= Tell him the truth if you want to, but it is on your own head (your own responsibility).

Far be it from me to interfere in your affairs but I would like to give you just one piece of advice.

= It is far from me to interfere...

我决不会干涉你的事，但我只想给你一条建议。
