现在完成进行时与现在时进行时的例句比较

我想知道问题中的have still been adapting 为什么要改成are still adapting。现在完成进行时也可以表动作一直持续到现在并还可以继续下去啊，不明白，求助！！

and yet = but, but +still 表示转折。已经上大学十个月了，但是还没有适应大学生活，即适应的动作还在进行中，还没有结束。所以用现在进行时符合上下文语义，表示现在的情况。
