when和that关系副词使用辨析

1）There was a time when I hated to go to school.

2）October 1, 1949 is the day when the People's Republic of China was founded.

3）I will never forget the date when I joined the army.

4）The days are gone when we used "foreign oil".

5）It happended on a day in November when the weather was very wet and cold.

6）The film brought the hours back to me when I was taken good care of in that faraway village.

上述句子先行词分别是a time, the day, the date, the days, a day, the hours, 定语从句使用关系副词when,

但是书上，不能使用that, 对此，我感到很疑惑。表示时间的先行词后面不也是可以使用关系副词that吗？

换言之，其后有3种形式，when, then, 或干脆省略。对吗？另外，最后一句中的hours如何理解其含义呢？

换言之，其后有3种形式，when, then, 或干脆省略。对吗？另外，最后一句中的hours如何理解其含义呢？

【答】应该是：“有3种形式，when, there, 或干脆省略。” the hours 也是表示时间的名词，可以译为“时光”，“（特定的）时候”。所以，后面的定语从句中可以用 when 或者 that 作时间状语。
