At first, I was surprised because it was not my usual time and I had made no further arrangements with my teacher but Monika had already done it yesterday.

此句出自一本英文小说，请问此句过去完成时和yesterday连用，是否符合语法？

当说话人在中午或下午谈论上午发生的事情时，会用一般过去时，然后再提及昨天发生的事情，昨天就是今天上午这个过去时间的过去，自然要用过去完成时了。例如 I met Tom this morning . He had come back from Beijing yesterday.

完全可以。类似的情况有：now有时也连用一般过去时，此时的 now 意思是“当时”“这时”。如：

Now there was nothing he could do except admit defeat. 此时他除了认输别无办法。

She heard a knock at the door. Now she was frightened. 她听到敲门声，这里他感到害怕起来。
