你说得对，动词correspond后有时接介词to，有时接介词with，但与后面是否接“人”没有关系。

correspond有三个常见意思，均不及物，若后接宾语，均应搭配适合的介词。

一是表示“一致，与……相称”。此时可接介词to或with。如：

Your account of events does not correspond with hers. 说的情况跟她说的不相符。

The description of these events corresponds closely to other accounts written at the time.  对这些事情的描述与当时的其他记录非常吻合。

二是表示“相当，相等”。此时通常后接 to，不接 with。如：

The wing of a bird corresponds to the arm of a man. 鸟的翅膀相当于人的手臂。

The British job of Lecturer corresponds roughly to the US Associate Professor. 英国的讲师职位大致相当于美国的副教授。

三是表示“通信，有书信往来”。此时通常后接with，不接 to。如：

He corresponded with leading European scholars. 他和欧洲最重要的学者都有书信往来。

She stopped corresponding with him after the death of her mother. 她母亲死后，她就不再与他通信。
