5 状语从句的简化

状语从句的简化：满足主句主语和从句主语一致，或从句主语是it
While the teacher was lecturing to the class, I fell asleep
（主句主语和从句主语不一致，不能转换成短语）
1.从句谓语中含有be动词的情况下，可将从句的主语和be动词省去。
A zero can have its meaning only when used with real numbers;
= A zero can have its meaning only when it is used with real numbers
Metals expand when heated and contract when cooled.
= Metals expand when they are heated and contract when they are cooled.”
2. 状语从句中没有be动词，可把从句的主语省去并且把动词变成现在分词-ing形式
Since I came to Beijing, I have made many new friends.
=Since coming to Beijing, I have made many new friends.
After I finished my homework, I fed the dog.
=After finishing my homework, I fed the dog.
3. 状语从句转化为不定式
I turned off the TV in order that my roommate could study in peace and quiet.
=I turned off the TV in order for my roommate to study in peace and quiet.
