1)He always wears a collar and tie for work. 他上班总是系着领带。

2)People who work in offices are frequently referred to as "white-collar workers' for the simple reason that they usually wear a collar and tie to go to work.

坐办公室的之所以常常被称作“白领工人”，就是因为他们通常是穿着硬领白衬衫，系着领带去上班。

a) a collar and tie 整体是一个词组，不可分割吗？是什么意思呢？

b) 为什么同样的结构句型，一个是for work, 而另一个却是to go to work，即：名词+ for sth = 名词 + to do sth 吗？都是表示目的？

1 a collar and tie 类似于bread and butter，意为正装。

2 for介词短语和to do不定式都是目的状语，不是定语。难道你不知道for介词短语可以作状语吗？
