That/This is the way with (somebody/something). 某人/某事一向如此；这就是某人/某事的本性。例如：
This is always the way with her. 这是她的特点和习惯；她一向就是这个样子。
"And is this always the way with him?" she added. 她说："他一向都是这样吗？”
That's the way with stepmothers. 继母都是这样。
That's the way with you whining, puny, pitiful players. 你们这种又爱哭、又软弱、又可怜的赌棍就是这样。

其实这就是一个普通表达，没有什么特殊的。the way 表示方式，类似的说法还有That/it is so with ... ，或That/it is the way it is with... 请比较和体会几个国外书刊的例句：
