next morning 还是 the next morning
新概念2-73：
When he woke up next morning, he discovered that the boat had, in the meantime, travelled to Calais. No one noticed the boy as he crept off.
新概念2-75：
Early next morning, she heard planes passing overhead and wondered how she could send a signal. Then she had an idea.
新概念2-33：
Early next morning, she saw a light ahead. She knew she was near the shore because the light was high up on the cliffs.
语法书上说，next + 例如week, year, afternoon...等表示从现在开始的一般将来时；如果是The next + ...大部分表示从过去的某时开始的...也可能是从将来某时开始的...
那么我的疑问是：上面3句都来自新概念，为什么不是When he woke up "THE" next morning, "THE" Early next morning, she heard planes..., "THE "Early next morning, she saw a light..呢？
为什么上面3句都没有定冠词THE呢？

如果以现在为时间参照点来谈论“下周”、“下月”、“明年”等，则 next 前面不能用定冠词；如果以过去或将来某个时间点为背景，来谈论“下一......”,则next 前面通常用定冠词，也可以不用定冠词。(详见赵振才《英语常见问题解答大词典》增订版第五版pp.949-950)
