赞同蒋老师的解答。我理解这里不用冠词的主要原因和home这个词的用法有关。home 原始意思是家，即人住的地方，习惯上不用冠词。如at home. 请看An A-Z of English Grammar and Usage一书的解释：

be home to 也是从家这个概念延申的，因此也受home的原始含义和用法的影响。

另外，柯林斯和麦克米伦等词典都把be home to 的home 界定为不可数名词，这样也排除了用不定冠词a的可能。

从COCA预料库例句看，be home to 不用冠词的有两千多条，用be the home to的仅33条。由此可见，be home to的用法更广为人们所接受。

Jamaica is home to over two million people. 牙买加是两百多万人的家乡。

The Rockies are home to bears and mountain lions. 落基山脉中有熊和美洲狮生存。

▲ be the home of也是惯用搭配，表“……的产地（生长地；发源地；栖息地）”，home是可数名词。例如：

Is China the home of pottery? 中国是陶器的发源地吗？
