我曾看到这样一个句子，is 是否应改为was？句子结构和意思应该如何理解？谢谢老师！

I bought the car as is from the seller.

as is 为习语，在句子中作状语，用来表示一个物品在买卖的时候按照当时的状况、按原样出售或买入。《韦氏高阶》对此的释义和例句如下。

你的句子没有错误，as is做状语。句子意思为，我从卖家那里买车的时候车就是这样的。
