300 million tons of plastic作主语时谓语动词的选择
各位老师好，请问 300 million tons of plastic is/are created each year, of which about 10 percent ends up in the sea. 这个句子中 created前面应该用is还是are，该怎么判断呢？是看plastic还是tons呢？

这题你可以根据后面的10 percent ends up中的ends确定前面用is。
当主语中有of介词时，真正的主词是of前面的词。这里300 million tons of是单位，制造出来的是plastic，中心词当然是plastic，如：two kinds of fruits,two cups of tea,three baskets of apples等。网友例句，谓语动词is/are的表现由真正的主词决定。
