请问老师，这两个where的作用一样吗？都是融合性关系副词吗？

Where he has surpassed every other English writer is in his ballads and songs.

第1句，where 是疑问副词，引导名词性疑问分句作句子主语。where 表示疑问概念，这从谓语即看出来：“没有人知道他住在哪里”。本句把 where 看作融合性关系副词引导名词性关系分句，也可以。如果把句子改为 Where he lives is frequently asked / is still a question. 那么 where 肯定是疑问副词。

第2句的where，才是融合性关系副词，等于 the place where。引导名词性关分句作句子主语。where 没有疑问概念，这从肯定的谓语即可看出来：“他超人的地方在于他的歌谣和歌曲”。
