应邀补充两个语法要点：

1、1983版章振邦《新编英语语法》（下册）P.515：

表示某天的朝夕用on，如on Sunday morning, on the afternoon of October the first⑬，on the following evening。如果在morning / evening之前有形容词也须用on，如on a fine morning, on a quiet evening等。

⑬如果某月某日在上（下）午之前有late, early等修饰语，介词仍用in，如in the late afternoon of 1st October。

2、夸克《英语语法大全》（P.943）：

on Monday morning, on Saturday afternoon, on the following evening等表明，on加了一个补足语后有一种特殊用法，即指一天的一部分，而不是指全天。这种用法也扩展到其他一些情况，其中的一段时间是指实际提到的某一天的一部分：on the morning of 1 June等, 但在early morning, late afternoon这样的短语之前，通常用in，如in the late afternoon。

两个都用on. 但第一题，似乎应改为on Tuesday afternoon 比较符合惯用。 morning, afternoon, evening等词在有定语修饰的情况下介词一般用on (有early， late等词修饰时除外,习惯上要用in, 如 in the late afternoon of December 25.）。

表示时间的介词“on”和介词“in”主要用于以下几种情况

【一】介词“on”表示具体的“某1天”或者“某1天的上午，下午，晚上”。

【1】on+“星期几(Monday---Sunday)” 例如：

on Monday ; on Tuesday; on Wednesday; on Thursday; on Friday; on Saturday; on Sunday

【2】on+“星期几(Monday---Sunday)”+“上午/下午/晚上(morning/afternoon/evening)”

On Monday morning ; on Tuesday afternoon; on Wednesday evening.

【3】on the morning/afternoon/evening of +“月份”+日期

On the morning of December 28th ; on the afternoon of December 27th ;

on the evening of December 27th ; on the morning of Jan. 5th

【二】介词“in”表示泛指“在上午/下午/晚上”，表示“某年/某月/某季节”或者表示在上午/下午/晚上的早些时候/晚些时候。

【1】in表示泛指“在上午/下午/晚上”例如

In the morning在上午; in the afternoon在下午; in the evening在晚上

【2】in表示某年/某月/某季节；例如

in 2021在2021年 ; in January在1月 ; in February在2月; in spring在春天 ; in summer在夏天; in autumn在秋天; in winter在冬天

【3】in表示在上午/下午/晚上的早些时候/晚些时候。例如

in the early morning在清早; in the late morning上午晚些时候 ;

in the early afternoon在下午早些时候;in the late afternoon在傍晚 ;

in the early evening在晚上早些时候; in the late evening在晚上晚些时候

in the early morning of December 28th ; 在12月28日清早

in the late morning of December 28th在12月28日早上晚些时候。

I reached the railway station in the early morning in drenching rain.

我一大早就冒着瓢泼大雨到达了火车站。

备注：【1】in 通常表示大于“1天” 【2】on通常表示“等于1天” 【3】at通常表示小于1天

【1】in的记忆口诀：“in年，in月，in季节”

【2】on的记忆口诀:“on表具体哪1天或者哪1天的上午下午晚上或者表示在某个天气上午/下午/晚上”

【3】at的记忆口诀:“at表具体时间点”
