《小王子》第十一章末尾几段话自己的疑问

Do you really admire me very much?" he demanded of the little prince.

"What does that mean-- 'admire'?"

"To admire means that you regard me as the handsomest, the best-dressed, the richest, and the most intelligent man on this planet."

我的疑问1: 如果不定式做主语那么这个不定式后面没有宾语语义不完整崇拜崇拜什么呢? 为什么这里to admire不加引号？

我的疑问2：这里的崇拜肯定不是一次，为什么不是动名词admiring呢？

我的疑问3：为什么不用名词admire

1 你要学会阅读，要能够根据上下文获取有关信息。这里What do you mean -- "admire"? 显然意思是 “admire you". 上下文意思很清楚，就没有必要说出宾语。to admire不是引语，而是解释动词的意思，所以不带引号。

2 当你解释一个动词的意思时，用不定式。你看看词典的英英释义就知道了。

3 问话人问的是谓语动词admire，当然解释的是动词而不是名词。否则就是答非所问了。

4 in that是存在句中的地点状语。那里边有什么东西让你这么感兴趣？
