困惑：判断saw后的宾语成分

①如果只有spread作宾语，即spread为n. 表示“蔓延”，before me为后置定语，the darkened earth surrounding…表示“变黑的土地用她的手臂拥抱无数的家庭…”，我认为与“蔓延”表示的是同一意义，那么这一大串成分上能否为spread的同位语呢？surrounding…又在这里作什么成分？

②如果saw后能看作是倒装句，即原型是the darkened earth spread before me, surrounding…，那么这一串都是saw的宾语了，spread为从句谓语表示“展开”，surrounding…现在分词作伴随状语，这句话译成“看到变黑的大地在我的面前展开，用她的手臂拥抱无数家庭”，网络上大多数也是这种翻译；但如果成立，我不是特别理解这里为何满足倒装的条件？

这是 see sth done结构，spread before me为过去分词短语作宾补，the darkened earth surrounding... 为宾语。由于宾语带了很长的修饰语，结构复杂，所以把宾语移到了宾补之后。这种现象称为宾语后移。注意这不能叫倒装，倒装指的是主语和谓语动词的位置颠倒。surrounding...为现在分词短语作the darkened earth的定语。其中with her arms为surrounding的状语，countless homes furnished with cradles and beds…为surrounding的宾语（这里也是因为宾语较长而后移到状语之后了）。
