the way you are = as you are, 是一个方式从句，通常在句子中作方式状语。但正如before，after，when，since引导的时间从句可以作名词修饰语一样，the way或as引导的方式从句也可以作名词修饰语。下面是语料库类似的例句：
I love you just the way you are.
We love you the way you are.
Beauty loved the beast as he was. I love you as you are.
I want to grow old and wrinkly with you. To love you as you are, this is my vow to you.
