As noted in relation to semiotics, = As is noted in relation to semiotics, 这就是传统语法中的as引导的非限制性定语从句，as的先行词为主句内容。现代语法把这种as分句分析为比较分句，作评注性状语或补充语。这里不同的是is可以省略，省略后现代语法仍然把其分析为比较分句。但传统语法则只能分析为过去分词短语作状语。但要注意过去分词noted的逻辑主语，并不是句子的主语，而是主句的内容。
